Amy Leigh Bamberg

HEADSHOT_ONE-compressed_edited.jpg

Hello, I'm Amy Leigh. Some might say I'm an anomaly—a visionary who loves the details, a southern gal who doesn’t drink sweet tea, and a wanderlust soul who flourishes when rooted. My journey has been one of navigating the vast landscapes of leadership and spirituality, always with an eye towards helping others grow and flourish.

Rooted in the fertile soils of rural Alabama, my early years on a cattle and catfish farm were my first classroom in the beauty of creation and the rhythms of life. These lessons carried me through my studies at Auburn University and into a career that blended landscape design with the calling of full-time ministry. My path has been enriched by theological education and marked by a commitment to speaking truth with love, challenging the rigid structures that too often confine our spirits.

My love for the Creator and creation beckons me to continually deepen the integrations of faith and life, to constantly pursue the unity of diversity. Whether through holy listening, gardening, or exploring the depths of church history and literature, I find God in all things and seek to invite others into this sacred awareness. My passions—poetry, travel, the night sky, and deep conversations—fuel my desire for a spirituality that embraces the whole person.

My approach to spiritual direction is shaped by these experiences and a profound belief in the power of being truly seen and heard. I've known the pain of being marginalized for challenging the status quo, the isolation of having gifts unrecognized by the institutions meant to foster them. Yet, these trials have only deepened my conviction in the necessity of a space where individuals can explore their spirituality free from judgment and constraint.

Spiritual direction, to me, is an intimate journey of discovering God's presence in the everyday realities of our lives. It's about having and holding space for your questions, your longings, your pain. With every person I meet, I aim to listen deeply, attuned to the Holy Spirit and the unique experiences of each soul, offering guidance with gentleness, acceptance, and love.

My life has been beautifully transformed by having true soul companionship with others, and I am passionate about offering that same transformative presence to you. Whether you're seeking to deepen your relationship with God, navigate life's complexities, or simply find a safe space to explore your spirituality, I'm here to walk with you.

Testimonials

“I offer enthusiastic support for the contemplative practices and teaching of Amy Leigh. She has led myself and some colleagues through experiential practices of Lectio divina, and having a contemplative and loving approach to the Bible, our emotions, our lives, each other, and nature. I enjoyed the diversity of exercises we were able to do as a group with her leading, including time alone, time outside, and sharing deeply about a passage of scripture and putting ourselves in the shoes of the characters,
yielding insights and comfort.”
